Ante Tomić
Ante Tomić, born in 1970 in Split, completed his studies in Philosophy and Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zadar. He works as a professional journalist for Jutarnji List. His notable works include the short story collection Zaboravio sam gdje sam parkirao, first published by Književni krug, Split in 1997, with an expanded edition released by Hena.com in 2001. His novel Što je muškarac bez brkova? published by Hena.com in 2000, was adapted for theater and later made into a film directed by Hrvoje Hribar in 2005. Tomić's essays were collected in Smotra folklora, published by Hena.com in 2001. In 2003, his novel Ništa nas ne smije iznenaditi, published by Fraktura, was adapted into the film Karaula, directed by Rajko Grlić. Other works include the 2004 short story collection Veliki šoping, the column collection Klasa optimist published by Hena.com the same year, and the novel Ljubav, struja, voda, telefon, serialized in Jutarnji list in 2005. He co-authored the play collection Krovna udruga i druge drame (Anđeli pakla) with Ivica Ivanišević, published by Fraktura in 2005. His novel Građanin pokorni was published by VBZ in 2006, and the column Dečko koji obećava followed in 2009 (Europapress holding). His other works include Čudo u Poskokovoj Dragi, published by Naklada Ljevak in 2009, and Veličanstveni Poskokovi, published by Hena.com in 2015, the 2010 column Nisam pametan (Naklada Ljevak), the novel Punoglavci (Naklada Ljevak, 2011), the short story collection Pogledaj što je mačka donijela (Hena.com, 2017) and his latest novel Nada (Hena.com, 2024).
