Ana Schnabl
Ana Schnabl is a Slovenian writer and editor, born in 1985. She contributes to numerous Slovenian media outlets and The Guardian. In 2017, she published a collection of short stories Razvezani (Disentangled), which was met with critical acclaim. The book won the Best Debut award at the Slovenian Book Fair, and it was nominated for two more awards. Schnabl also won the Croatian literary prize "Edo Budiša". Three years later, her debut novel The Masterpiece was published by Beletrina and it received positive reception from both Slovenian and international audiences. She toured Europe with this book, including residencies at Museumsquartier in Vienna and the Literarisches Colloquium in Berlin. She also participated in the First Festival of European Authors in London. The novel garnered praise from various Austrian, German, and English media and was longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award. Her second novel, Plima (The Tide), published by Beletrina in 2022, was nominated for the Kresnik Award and is currently being translated into Serbian and English. Her third novel, September, was published by Beletrina in August this year.
