Žarko Paić

Žarko Paić was born in Kutina in 1958. He obtained his master’s degree in contemporary philosophy from the Faculty of Political Science under Prof. Dr. Vanja Sutlić, a leading Croatian philosopher of the 20th century. He received his doctorate in sociology of globalization and identity from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb. A philosopher, sociologist, and political scientist, he is the author of more than fifty monographs and editor of volumes in Croatian and English, some of which have recently been published by prestigious international publishing houses such as Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Springer, Palgrave Macmillan, Toronto University, and Schwabe Verlag. He is a member of the S. Kierkegaard Institute, the Forum for the Humanities, the Centre for Visual Studies in Zagreb, the Institute for Globalization and European Studies, the Croatian Writers’ Society, the Croatian PEN Centre, and the Center of Studies of Contemporary Nihilism. He is a foreign member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of the humanities, editor-in-chief of the Sociology and Transhumanism book series at Trivent Publishing in Budapest, and an editor, editorial board member, and member of the publishing boards of numerous journals in Croatia and abroad.
