Rambo Amadeus

Antonije Pušić, a.k.a. Rambo Amadeus, is a poet, composer, innovator, philosopher, social activist, above all a chronicler of the times in which he lives and works. Born in Kotor, grew up in Herceg Novi, lives and works in Belgrade. His songs represent an original mix of different genres, while he skilfully analyses and criticises contemporary society and all its anomalies with satirical lyrics. He recorded about twenty studio and concert albums, the last one being Brod Budala. He composed music for numerous theatre plays, and also composed the score for Fritz Lang’s silent film Metropolis from 1927. He composed the cadenza For Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in C Major (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which was performed by soloist Ivan Tasovac in 1995 at Kolarac. The conductor was Oskar Danon. He won numerous awards for his work. In addition to Steria’s award, in 1996, Rambo won an award for literary contribution on the celebrity scene at Domanović Satire Days. He won the Saatchi & Saatchi Award for best radio commercial and the Golden Rose for best copyright. He starred in the comedy Boomerang by Dragan Marinković, for which he also composed the score, and for which he won the Grand Prix at Valencia Film Festival He composed the opera Pasija po Stelli, which premiered at Kotor Art in 2019, followed by Novi Sad in 2021. Lately he has been successfully collaborating with the Macedonian National Jazz Orchestra.
