Emir Imamović Pirke
Emir Imamović Pirke was born in 1973 in Tuzla. He is a longtime journalist, editor, and columnist for some of the most prominent media in the region, as well as a writer and screenwriter. He is the author of six novels: Jel neko vidio djevojčice, kurve ratne zločince (Has Anyone Seen the Girls, Whores, War Criminals), Tajna Doline piramida (The Secret of the Pyramid Valley), Treće poluvrijeme (The Third Half), Vršenje dužnosti (Performing Duties), Terorist (TheTerrorist), and Plan savršenog neuspjeha (The Plan of Perfect Failure). His first novel was nominated for the Kiklop Award at the Book Fair(y) in Istria in the “Debut of the Year” category, and Treće poluvrijeme (The Third Half) and Terorist (The Terrorist) were nominated for the regional Meša Selimović award. He writes for television as well: he is the screenwriter of the TV series Bijeli put (The White Road), co-writer of the first season of Dnevnik velikog Perice (The Diary of Big Perica), and screenwriter of 15 episodes of the TV series Kazalište u kući (Theatre at Home). In theater, he authored the plays SUR Sajgon and Samo nek ne puca (As Long as No One Shoots), and in film, he co-wrote the feature film Paviljon (Pavilion) with Viktor Ivančić, directed by Dino Mustafić. He is a member of the Program Board of the Book Fair(y) in Istria and one of the founders of the Festival of Alternative and Left Šibenik (FALIŠ). He publishes in the weekly Express and on the portals Forum.tm and Bljesak.info. He lives in Šibenik.
