Nataša Govedić

Nataša Govedić works as a writer, critic, theater scholar, and educator. She is a member of the Croatian Writers’ Society and PEN. She earned her PhD in comparative literature and theater studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She is a regular theater critic for Novi list and the editor-in-chief of the feminist magazine Treća (The Third), published by the Center for Women’s Studies. She holds a permanent position at the Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her recent publications include the novels Div (The Giant, Zagreb: Fraktura, 2025) and Eskim na feniksu ti je ukrao mobitel (An Eskimo on a Phoenix Stole Your Phone, Zagreb: Ljevak, 2023); poetry collections Pasja kola (To Haul Over the Coals, Zagreb: VBZ, 2024) and Knjiga prve pomoći (First Aid Book, Zagreb: Meandar, 2025); and two analytical books: Oscar Wilde izlazi iz zatvora ili vaša omiljena umjetnost zove se kritika (Oscar Wilde Leaves Prison or Your Favorite Art Is Called Criticism, 2023) and Pohvala odriješenim rukama: čitanje i kritičke pedagogije (In Praise of Unbound Hands: Reading and Critical Pedagogies, Zagreb: Ljevak, 2025). She is also preparing an editorial book, Learovanje: Shakespeare ispod kože (Learing: Shakespeare Under the Skin), scheduled for publication by Naklada Ljevak by the end of 2025.
