Petra Pletikos
Petra Pletikos was born in 1989 in Pula, where she currently lives and works. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka. As an interdisciplinary artist, she expresses herself using a variety of media. Her work includes creating objects, constructions, and interactive installations, as well as graphic arts, illustration, and occasionally animation. She focuses on exploring the relationships between form, space, and light, as well as the connection between natural and artificially created elements in everyday environments. Materiality and its exploration often play a central role in her artistic expression. She has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions, eco-art workshops/residencies, 3D mapping, and stage lighting workshops. Over the past decade, she has collaborated with various associations and organizations, including Seasplash, Visualia and WWF, Prostor urbane kulture – Kasarna Fažana, Vladimir Skate Film Festival, Pula Film Festival, VFFuFFF, KA-MATRIX, and the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria. She frequently works as a set designer for various events and as a technician for gallery and museum installations. Petra is a board member of HUIU (Croatian Association of Interdisciplinary Artists) and serves as a technician at the association’s gallery. In addition to her visual arts work, she has led creative workshops for people with intellectual disabilities, coordinated summer creative workshops for children, and mentored children in robotics workshops (Croatian Makers). She has also occasionally taught specialized subjects at the School of Applied Arts and Design in Pula.
