Hrvoje Jelković
Hrvoje Jelković (1977) is a cultural manager and producer with over 25 years of experience organizing and leading cultural events in Croatia. He is the founder and director of the Independent Cultural Center Azimut in Šibenik, one of the key spaces for independent culture in the country, and co-founder and coordinator of the association Kolektiv 4B, which connects cultural actors in Šibenik and develops contemporary art and cultural tourism projects. He has participated in the launch and execution of numerous events and projects, most notably the music festival Terraneo, which had a significant impact on the development of Šibenik’s cultural scene. He was involved in opening St. Michael’s Fortress as a cultural venue and in the initiative to repurpose the so-called Orange Building as a space for Šibenik associations. In 2013, he launched Azimut, which has since become a recognized meeting place for artists, audiences, and cultural initiatives. During the pandemic, he founded the Kolektiv 4B network, through which projects such as Nevidljiva scena (Invisible Stage), Vremoplov (Time Machine), Priče iz bunara (Stories from the Well), Šibenik Street Art Festival, and Flora Dalmatica were created. For his work, he has received two Šibenik City Awards (2012 and 2022) and the Golden Boule of Šibenik-Knin County for his contribution to cultural development. He actively participates in shaping cultural policies and advocates for strengthening the independent scene and sustainable cultural development. Through his work, he connects artists, cultural organizations, and local communities, promoting public space as a place for creativity and dialogue, while developing Šibenik as a recognized center of contemporary culture and new cultural-tourism offerings.
