Matija Ferlin

Matija Ferlin was born in 1982 in Pula. He is an award-winning choreographer, director and performer. He graduated from the School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam, and later lived and worked in Berlin and Toronto. After returning to Pula, he has dedicated himself to research and rearticulation of different concepts of performance art. He creates solo and group performances, in which he collaborates with dancers and actors. He is the author of a number of successful plays, with which he achieved a number of notable international appearances and awards. He performed at festivals in Europe and America and collaborated with numerous choreographers, directors, visual artists, musicians and playwrights, including Mateja Koležnik, Ivica Buljan, Maja Delak, Goran Ferčec, Christophe Chemin, Ame Henderson, Sasha Waltz, Mauricio Ferlin, Jasna Jasna Žmak. From July 2023, he holds the position of the artistic director of the Istrian National Theatre – City Theatre of Pula. He lives in Savičenta.
