Pia Prezelj

Pia Prezelj was born in 1995. She is a Slovenian writer, translator, and journalist for the culture section of the daily newspaper Delo. In 2022, she received the Watchdog – pas čuvar award, presented by the Slovenian Journalists’ Association, for her journalistic work. She began her literary career with the novel „Teška voda“, which earned her the award for Best Debut at the Slovenian Book Fair in 2023, as well as nominations for the „Kresnik“ Award, the Cankar Award, and the Critics’ Sito Award. She recently published her second novel, „Bili smo trije“; it is a novel about family relationships, home, and loss, but also about how the past influences who we are and what we become.
