Matteo Moscarda

The story of the Giacometti-Moscarda family was begun by their grandmother Livia and grandfather Claudio. Their foundations were strengthened through the work and ideas of Guglielmo and Lorella, who passed on their love of nature, tradition and the family business to their sons Matteo and Luca. It was they who created the brand that continues to expand. Matteo Moscarda learned about modern grape-processing technology, the specific characteristics of wine varieties and the maintenance of wine preparations during his studies in Udine, where he graduated in enology in 2012. The brothers run their business through continuous work, the division of responsibilities and ongoing education. While Matteo devotes his time to monitoring the characteristics of wine, Luca Moscarda has turned his attention to marketing and presenting the many products that have been part of their long-standing range. At the heart of every brand lies its meaning. Theirs found its roots in the location where they are based – the town of Vodnjan. „Babos“ is the name of an ancient part of Vodnjan where their wine cellar is located, a place where technological innovations intertwine with local tradition. Their passion and long-standing love for their work are the guiding stars leading the Giacometti-Moscarda family towards the future and new ventures.
