Kruno Lokotar

Kruno Lokotar was born in Daruvar in 1967. He graduated in comparative literature, history, and library science from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. He was one of the selectors and the sole director of FAK (Festival of a Literature). From 2002 to 2007, he was the editor-in-chief of AGM, during which he received the Kiklop Award for Best Editor for the first time. From 2007 to 2015, he worked as editor of domestic and regional fiction and non-fiction at the publishing house Algoritam. He established the Na vrh jezika (On the Tip of the Tongue) award for poetry and the Prozak (Prozac) award for authors under 35, and initiated the festival Prvi prozak na vrh jezika (First Prosac on the Tip of the Tongue). Together with Emir Imamović Pirke, he founded FALIŠ (Festival of the Alternative and the Left in Šibenik) and later passed it on to capable hands, as well as KaLibar bestival, which he also entrusted to others. He also founded the world’s first Post scriptum award for literature on social media. As a freelancer and external editor, he works with several publishers. Since 2024, he has returned to AGM, now part of Zagreb Holding, as editor-in-chief. In 2025, he published the diary Limited Edition with Buybook.
