Anita Šikić

Anita Šikić was born in 1961 in Makarska, where she completed high school. In 1979, she enrolled in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, studying Yugoslav languages and literature, and graduated in 1985. She worked at the Business Community of Croatian Publishers and Booksellers (1984), the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Vjesnik and Večernji list newspapers, the publishing house "Globus" (1989–1992), and, since 1992, at the Croatian University Press as an editor. Since 1995, she has been the director of the Croatian University Press. She has published articles and reviews in professional journals and has edited several hundred books, many of which have received awards. Since 2005, she has been a member of the Council of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Croatia and the leader of the Scientific and Professional Books Publishers and Booksellers Group within the Croatian Chamber of Economy. She is also a member of the Knjižni blok association.
