Damir Agičić
Damir Agičić (born in 1963) is a historian and Full Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. His research focuses on central European contexts of Croatian history in the modern era and the history of Croatian historiography. He is the author of several books (“Tajna politika Srbije u XIX.stoljeću”, “Hrvatsko-češki odnosi na prijelazu stoljeća”, “Srednjoeuropske teme”, Hrvatska Klio”, I-II). He was the promoter and first editor of the journal Povijest u nastavi (from 2003 to 2008) and is since 2008 the main editor-in-chief of the journal Historijski zbornik. He edited numerous books from the field of humanities, particularly in history, as well as books, essays, and non-fiction works. He launched the web portal www.historiografija.hr to popularize historical studies and founded the Festival of History Kliofest. He is the president of the Croatian National Committee for Historical Sciences. He received several prestigious awards, including the National Award for popularization and promotion of science, the Ivan Filipović Award, and two Polish honors: Meritorious for Polish Culture and Bene Merito.
