Ivona Orlić

Ivona Orlić was born in Pula in 1971. She completed her primary education in Poreč and secondary education in Pula – the „Branko Semelić“ Centre for Education and Vocational Training. In 1996, she obtained a degree in padegogy from the Faculty of Education in Rijeka, and a year later completed a degree in Cultural Activities Organization. At the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb – specializing in ethnology/cultural anthropology – she defended her master’s thesis entitled „Franci Blašković i konstrukcija suvremenog istarskog identiteta“ in 2004, and obtained her PhD in 2011 with her dissertation „Regionalni identitet u suvremenoj turističkoj ponudi Istre“. After graduating, she worked in Italian and Croatian primary schools. Since 1999, she has been employed at the Poreč Open Public University, and since 2006 she has worked at the Ethnographic Museum of Istria in Pazin. She is the author of three books and one picture book. She has published approximately thirty scholarly, professional, and popular articles. She is married with three children, and lives in Musalež.
