Paola Orlić

Paola Orlić was born in 1973 in Pula. She is an art historian, independent curator, and producer of the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb. After earning her degree in art history and philosophy from the University of Zagreb, she completed postgraduate studies in art history at the College of Art, Ohio University, where she focused on the intersections of film and art. For over two decades, she has produced film festivals, organized art events, curated solo and group exhibitions, and participated in independent film projects. She has written, edited, and published around ten art monographs and collaborates as an author with the FoAM laboratory in Brussels on the multi-year project PARN (Physical and Alternate Reality Narratives). She is an active member of the Croatian Society of Art Historians (DPUH), the Association of Artists and Art Historians of Croatia (ULUPUH), and the Croatian Association of Independent Artists (HZSU). She has served as a program selector and jury member at numerous international film festivals, gallery boards, and museums worldwide. She received the biennial Ante Peterlić Award from the Croatian Film Critics’ Society (2024) for her editorial work and the annual award of the Croatian Society of Art Historians (2023) for promoting interdisciplinarity and visual culture.
