Vladislav Bajac
Vladislav Bajac was born in Belgrade in 1954. Writer and publisher. Studied at the Faculty of Philology. He worked in journalism and literary translation. Published poetry collections Koji put vodi do ljudi and Put haiku, collections of stories Evropa na leđima bika, Podmetači za snove, Geopoetičke basne and Gastronomadske price, as well as Sabrane priče, novels Knjiga o bambusu, Crna kutija – Utopija o naknadnoj stvarnosti, Druid iz Sindiduna, Bekstvo of biografije – Život u osam imena, Evropa ekspres – Roman u pričama, Hamam Balkanija – Roman i druge priče and Hronika sumnje. He is the recipient of a number of honours and awards. His first novel, Knjiga o bambusu, was included in the 25 novels of the decade in Yugoslavia in 1990. His books have been translated into 20 world languages. Vice President of Serbian PEN 2008-2010. One of the founders and member of the Balkan Academy of Arts. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the publishing house Geopoetika, winner of the Award for Literary Translation Initiative of the London Book Fair and the Publishers Association of the United Kingdom for the edition Srpska proza in English translation (SPiT – Serbian Prose in Translation). He is a holder of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit-Commander.
