Socialism on the Bench

The program Socialism on the Bench shares its name with the theme of the 19th Book Fair(y) in Istria. After more than three decades of “waiting,” during which socialism was mostly discussed either by its main protagonists or its harshest critics, the phenomenon of socialism has, over the past decade, returned to the focus of scholarly interest. One of the centers of such research is the Centre for Cultural and Historical Research of Socialism at the University of Pula. The leading voices of the Socialism on the Bench are those of theorists, scholars, and publicists who explore the cultural and academic study of socialism and its reflections on contemporary society.
